Marketers Against Repetition: Automate Campaign Planning With Brightpod!

May 9, 2013

As marketers, have you ever felt that a campaign cannot ever truly be classified as a project? I know I have. Marketing tasks are usually ongoing and repeated across every campaign. There’s always some copy you have to edit, A/B tests to run, content ideas to think of… I could go on.

Why then, do task management tools not cater to this basic need that marketers have? To be able to reduce repetition and automate the planning bit of a campaign should be a must have in any task management tool for marketing teams.

And that’s exactly what we’ve tried to do with Brightpod.

In this post, I’ll give you a quick rundown on how you can automate campaign planning and eliminate repetition using Brightpod.

Use an existing marketing workflow:Brightpod includes pre-existing workflows for common marketing campaigns like setting up twitter marketing for your brand or an email marketing campaign.

All these workflows contain tasks that are normally associated with such campaigns. For eg. the email marketing workflow has tasks like Import existing subscriber list and Choose the email template.

This makes it amazingly simple to get started with campaigns with just a little effort to customize it for yourself in the beginning.

To learn how you can use an existing workflow, just take a look at our help section — http://brightpod.com/help/workflows/

Create a custom workflow: Another way to save time & reduce repetition, is to create custom workflows for your marketing efforts. A lot of the marketers that use Brightpod at the moment use this feature to automate campaigns that they run for several clients, such as Link Building, On-page SEO and more.

Creating a custom workflow helps marketers apply the processes they’re used to, to different campaigns.

Oh, and it’s super simple to create a custom workflow. Once you’ve created a pod with tasks, task lists & milestones, you can turn it into a custom workflow from the tasks tab of that pod.

You can read more about custom workflows here — http://brightpod.com/help/workflows/

Create recurring tasks: Lately, we had one of our earliest clients complain to us about how she has to remember to make a payment to her SEO agency on the 5th of every month. She told us she’s tried making a task for it but then she forgets to create a task for it in the first place!

This seemed like a situation that a lot of marketers would go through so we recently added the option to create recurring tasks in Brightpod.

With recurring tasks, you can just enter a task saying, “Check Google Analytics everyday” and it’ll automatically add the task everyday after you’ve ticked it off your daily to-do list. Nifty, right!

So there you have it. Brightpod’s top features to help you and your team avoid repetition and automate the tasks you do often.

What other tactics do you use to reduce repetition & automate tasks? Let me know in the comments below.
